Every spring, cherry blossoms blanket the orchards anchored in the fertile earth of the Willamette Valley and the rich soil that stretches up the banks of the Columbia River Basin.
This is the time of year Oregon Cherry Growers cooperative members are busy tending their orchards, paying attention to the details that make Oregon's cherries the finest in the world. It has been a way of life since 1847 when the first "rooting" stocks were brought to the area by covered wagon.
Over the years, Oregon growers have been instrumental in the development of new varieties of cherries and methods of harvesting and production of Maraschino Cherries.
In 1932, growers combined their knowledge and other resources to form a cooperative. Since then, Oregon Cherry Growers, along with it's grower members has continued the tradition of excellence and innovation. Members share the latest information on planting, growing, harvesting, and processing to meet ever-changing needs of both the fresh and Maraschino Cherry market.
